[attr="class","nodensheader"]CHARACTER BACKGROUND [attr="class","nodenscharright"] [attr="class","nodenscharright2"] I remember my first visit to Eos. My soft steps between gilded spires clawing at the sky. My cautious stares at the rampant use of magic. My nose wrinkling at burning pheromones hinting at cruel desires. And my clenched fists and teeth, locked by instincts that abhorred what I could not understand. What I saw then was a beast. A creature so massive that it shouldn’t have been able to move under its own weight, and yet it painfully does. Its rotting flesh propelled by so many writhing maggots, gorging themselves as they crawl over one another for an illusion of dominance. [break][break] Call me and my fellow tribesmen savages for all I care. We knew what it was like to live our lives without owing anyone anything. And now we are forced to work with ‘civilized’ people, even though it may be the end of who we are. Despite that, we are not afraid to die. Not when we know what it’s like to have lived. [break][break] What I fear the most, however; is losing sight of that joy and freedom beneath the encroaching shadows of this beast. [break][break] As an outsider to city life it took many years for Behemoth to adjust to the pace and noise. It was a stark contrast from living in Waas Forest, where fresh food was readily available and nature kept you on your toes. Things made sense back then, and it all felt right. She lived in a tribe of mutants, but they coexisted peacefully with other cultures. Often they acted as guides or hunters, braving the wilderness for those too soft to do so themselves. However, her tribe came to a violent clash with a noble house who had sought to purchase the land they lived on. Without any familiarity with legal proceedings her tribe’s concerns were merely swept away as they too were forced to relocate. [break][break] Understanding that more bloodshed, while justified in their eyes, would only bring them more trouble the tribe looked for help in Eos. Those that could find work stayed within the city, while the remainder of the community settled down in a remote portion of Waas Forest to continue a simple, honest life. The plan was to scrounge up enough money and resources to buy land and solidify their home’s borders, but it has been slow going at best, especially with the corruption within the city. [break][break] Like many of her kin Behemoth does not use her real name within the city walls, hence her peculiar moniker. At least, not openly. Among those they trust they will share such privileged information, but no one outside that tight knit circle. For almost ten years now Behemoth has served as a Knight of the Council, working hard to keep the streets safe as she learned about and integrated into life in Eos. It has been an unforgiving and thankless job, but one she vents her frustrations through via heavy handed shows of force. To those especially who raise arms against Knights Behemoth is particularly glad to fight with. There’s less paperwork and sorting to do with dead bodies. [break][break] Believing that might is right she has a distinct distaste for politics and its inherent dishonesty. However, people who think they have power will always try to rise to the top, and she recognizes this fact acutely. If turning a blind eye to something would earn a profitable outcome Behemoth might do so if she feels she can get away with it. She doesn’t like the idea of spreading further anarchy, but she has her tribe to think of first and has little hope left for Eos being redeemable. [break][break] If she could, Behemoth would take her tribal kin and leave Eos forever before it consumed them all. For now though she’s here to stay. For better, or for worse. |
